The Confluence

The confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers at the site of Fort Calgary is the birthplace of the city. Just across from Fort Calgary and right at the confluence is St. Patrick’s island. This could be an ideal location to host a major work of art that celebrates the rich history of this place, not only as the birthplace of Calgary, but its importance to those who came before and those who continue to come here today. Solicit ideas for public art from Calgarians, creating an opportunity for on-going idea generation and citizen participation in the vision for our city developed and presented in imagineCALGARY.
