Let commuters take bikes onto the train at all hours! The current regulations clearly discourage cycling. A vertical storage system with hooks would help create space for all. More cyclists would also ease the parking issues we have around train stations.
Calgary artists and cultural organizations could put together a national touring show (one big show together or several smaller shows) that would start to put a bigger emphasis on "exporting" Calgary's creativity. We already do this in a number of areas, but with extra support, 2012 could be a year when Canadians learn first hand what Calgary has to offer.

A lot has happened to Calgary in the past 100 years. Perhaps a discovery trail throughout the city to showcase the city. The Freedom Trail in Boston is an excellent way to tour through the city on your own. Simply follow the line.
Let's create our own line through Calgary to show places, items of interest.
It would be great to have a western skills workshop where people can learn how to crack a bullwhip, throw a knife and lasso and other similar type of skills.
