  Art Fairs!

  Commercial galleries take the work of their artists' all over the world to art fairs where they are exposed to serious, potential new buyers. We should have the same in Calgary. Over time it would bring buyers, artists, and representatives from contemporary galleries from all over the world! Over time it would bring buyers, artists, and representatives from contemporary galleries from all over the world! Exhibiting the work of local artists is very much needed, but art fairs are one way to inject our artistic pride into a larger art scene.

  The Great Canadian Tour

  Calgary artists and cultural organizations could put together a national touring show (one big show together or several smaller shows) that would start to put a bigger emphasis on "exporting" Calgary's creativity. We already do this in a number of areas, but with extra support, 2012 could be a year when Canadians learn first hand what Calgary has to offer.
